january temple date.

we have decided that we must go to the temple once a month. it is so special to us and we miss going a lot if we wait too long. when we go to the temple, everything is brighter. even when the weather is dark and cold :(

family lunch.

visit from nils.

Jonas had a wonderful week with his great friend, Nils. they played a lot of video games and spoke german all week. i am so grateful that nils came to visit. i know it means a lot to jonas. he misses germany too much sometimes, and things like this help with that. plus, nils is so sweet, he is a tip top, best person.

first day of school.

it has been a long road, but jonas finally started school today! i am so proud. he probably did not want his photo taken at 6am, but it will be nice to remember this day. it was a great first day too, what an exciting journey.

louisville science center.

one of jonas' best friends from germany came to visit. saturday night we went to the louisville science center and then got some yogurt. sure is good to see nils again! 

a monday night pizza.

man oh man. that was a great pizza we had for family home evening. i am so glad that my sore throat didn't keep me from tasting this beauty. sometimes a pizza night can really bring you together, and you end up talking and laughing for so long that dinner time passes and you realize how tired you are and you should probably sleep...those are the days :) 

new years weekend.

*we really tried with our new nikon d40 this weekend. i swear it will get better.

well, we had a wonderful weekend together. friday we had late night half-price apps at applebees. for lunch on saturday, we had penn station and jonas took me to feeder's supply to get our things for our non-existent cat :)

and we played "lunch money" at the phinney's all evening. i even won a round. happy new year. it is gonna be great!
