The Louisville Zoo.

I need to unwind from work, really really bad.
So, on Friday I let it all go (for a little while) and spent the evening at the zoo with my man.
The zoo is the best in the evening when there aren't so many kids around (sorry kids).
We brought a couple sandwiches and had time to see everything.
The lion even sang for us(what was he really doing?) He is my favorite. I want to brush his mane.
We live in a beautiful world. It was nice to be reminded of the variety of God's creations.
He did a good job :)

 ^^Jonas was jealous.
 ^^ with my homies.
^^beauty
^^Oh Komodo Dragon, you are the scariest thing at the zoo. Keep your razor teeth to yourself.

i love being an aunt.

My nieces came over for their last visit of the summer.
I always have fun with these ladies.
I picked them up Monday evening and they had a great time at Panda Express putting noodles in their drink cups. You get to do this kind of thing with your aunt :) & then we went shopping and running around at H&M.
We went to Henry's Ark the next day to feed the animals (with donuts from Nord's first). I really like Henry's Ark. I would totally go back even without kids.
We also saw Rio 2 with those little movie meals. I love those.
We finished the day with some time at the park & dinner.
I will miss you until next time...

26.2

I am going to run a marathon. Hopefully, on September 27th, I will be able to say that I did run it. That will feel so good but it is so scary. Oh my goodness. My half went really well and I have always loved running but training was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I may not be one of those super fast runners but I am proud of my long distance runs :)

This training is going to be interesting. For my half, I spent most of my training at the gym because it was cold outside, and I cannot run in the cold. No way. Now it is so humid and hot, so I will be running at night or ideally, before work. During the little time I trained outside last time, I was hit in the face by a homeless lady and was the victim of those ridiculous people who like to scare runners from their car (cowards!). Let's see what else I get this time around.

One night while I was running,  this random guy gave me a high five.  I am going to remember that on the tough days! Running makes me feel so alive. Nothing to it but to do it !

the sunflower field.

So yeah. There is a 3000 sq. ft. sunflower garden extremely close to my home.
I think it is the coolest. Someone plants these every year & I hope to run into that person someday.
I just want to know why.
We took our Sunday walk past the garden.
I loved it and it was almost the best part of Sunday..
but then listening to The Weepies while cleaning the kitchen and cooking eggs with my Jonas won.
Pretty sure that will always win.

shakespeare.

This year, Louisville's Shakespeare festival has so many showings.
We made it to the last Mid Summer Night's Dream that we would be able to attend.
Jonas knows this one & sometimes Shakespeare is confusing for me, so it was quite perfect.
We were sure to spray some bug spray before we left
& we enjoyed the cool summer evening walk to Central Park.
We also packed a picnic and brought a blanket.
& German sparkling water & German chocolate.
I love this community of ours & dates & food from paper plates & summer!
(but I do not love fuzzy phone pictures. haha)

we're the gladiators!

Germany winning the World Cup was a highlight in our life.
I loved hearing Jonas cheer  (or..scream) when Germany scored the winning goal.
He love love loves German soccer. & I love how happy it makes him.
Tonight we went out for German food to celebrate the win.
I felt pretty guilty that he wasn't in Germany celebrating with everyone...but maybe next time...
Photo is from the Germany- Brazil game. Also epic!

summer date night.

I had the best time on our date Friday evening. We compromised and each chose something. My pick was the The Speed Art Museum's space, Local Speed. There were french posters, a vending machine for art, and lots of kisses and laughing from us :) We also walked around NuLu a little but we try not to go over there very often because soon we will live there and get to experience it everyday. I just didn't want to miss the exhibit before it switches. Afterward, we drove around in the sun and then went to the mall and found Jonas some running shoes. Jonas' choice was a movie- Rise of the Planet of the Apes. We both thought it was too long but those apes looked so real!
