indy.

Last weekend we spent a day in Indianapolis. We spent a lot of time on the 100 Acres of The Indianapolis Museum of Art. I finally visited the famous "Funky Bones" and so many other interesting pieces. We had dinner at Rathskeller because we are constantly looking for great German restaurants. Unfortunately, this one lacked a certain authenticity that so many others do too. The great thing is that the best one is right here in Louisville (Das Gasthaus). Really we should stop trying with others because nothing comes close. Not even a little. We finished the day by going to the Milky Chance concert. I had planned on dancing the night away but did not feel well so we left early. I am not that sad about it because it was kind of a kid concert. haha. The opening act was from Berlin, so when we left, Jonas got to speak a little German with the lead singer.

And then I watched(Jonas listened while driving) to Game of Thrones on the way home. We are hardcore fans.

cincinnati & david sedaris.

this past Monday we drove up to Cincinnati to enjoy the city a little bit and "an evening with david Sedaris". he is so wonderful. I remember reading one of his books for the first time in Letna Park in Prague. I am kind of a serious lady, so the fact that he gets me to laugh out loud, well that's something. if you haven't read any of his work, you really should! David Sedaris spoke at The Cincinnati Music Hall, a beauty of a venue.

After the show, we walked around downtown looking for Graeter's. I still have no idea where it was. We found a Starbucks first and shared a chocolate chip frappuccino while walking around the Cincinnati 21C Museum.

We stayed at the Raddison in Covington and stayed in bed until check out on Tuesday. Hotels are the life, I love not having to make the bed :) Plus we had a great view of Cincinnati.

Tuesday we spent part of the afternoon walking around Vine Street. We bought donuts that we shouldn't have, but the lady practically made us buy the one with bacon on it. She even had us try it in front of her because "she loves to see the reactions." We had lunch at Senate. I tried poutine for the first time and we had their korean hot dog and lobster BLT.

Louisville welcomed us back with our car in the impound lot. There are only a couple poles on our street, so we don't always see the signs :(

We didn't have a whole lot of time to eat before the show, so we had dinner at Fusian. You get to choose what's in your sushi and I'm obsessed with that concept.

easter. 2015.

Easter could not have been better! Even though I had to work for part of the day, we made it to brunch with all of my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. I was so glad to see them all & to eat delicious food!

Except for the photo of our Easter baskets (aka: an excuse to buy German candy for ourselves), these photos were taken at my sister's house. I had a blast playing with my nieces. We played with Calico critters, their bearded dragon and practiced yoga moves together. We had "chinese easter", my sister made it all from scratch. I hope you had the loveliest of days too!
