best date-after-christmas i ever did have.

a couple months ago i found the preview for this movie and knew that it was our Christmas movie this year. so after a long(but fun) day, we shared a raspberry chocolate chip milkshake and saw this great movie. it was the best. so inspiring. i want a zoo. and i love matt damon and the little fanning girl. she is so gorgeous. i did have a favorite quote from this film too: "You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it." so go see it, or in our case, watch it again. you will be happier.

Christmas day. 2011.

Our Christmas was amazing. We went to church in the morning and heard the Christmas story which really set the tone for the day, then we drove to Lexington for christmas at my grandma's. We had a gift exchange, a little drama and great food. i don't know about everyone else, but Christmas was pretty magical for me. and i think it can be if you make the effort. oh, we also had the opportunity to visit my mama, and that may have been the best part. we truly had a blessed day. wonderful second Christmas together-check.

Christmas Eve was so much fun for us! Well, after Jonas finished working(we will ignore that part), we went to KT's for dinner. It was so delicious and my parents used to go on dates there all the time and take us there when we were kids. so it is kind of special. they opened up the back room for all the people that were there to eat dinner, and the heat had been off. so for the first 45 minutes, it felt like we were back in cold Germany. but it made us happy. then we came home for sugar cookies, gifts and some michael buble christmas album. it was a great evening.

one of our Christmas traditions is to pick out one ornament each, every year. this year jonas got a pretty fancy whale and i now have a feathery little bird. but my favorite part of the tree this year? the tiny bearded elves. merry chrsitmas!

i am trying to get to know my sisters a little bit better. we did not grow up together and they live in georgia so it is a little difficult. maybe someday it will not be awkward, but natural between us. that is my goal. they are some neat little ladies, i was so different when i was a child. they are so outgoing. i love that about them though. the last photo was our christmas gift for them. i hope it will be a treasure for them someday, when the lalaloopsys have gone out of style. though i think i am a little jealous of those prints. i think i need to get one soon too. i just cannot choose!

tonight we went to The First Christian Church in Shelbyville to enjoy a musical, which Laine, a great lady i work with, was a part of. afterward, we got some hot chocolate(well, first we tried cold chocolate but after they added coffee on accident, we had to trade it in) at mcdonalds. then we walked around main st. so adorable. and we added a little christmas music into the car ride- it was perfection.

we had such fun last night at the dan's pawn christmas party. my sister and brother-in-law were there too. it was so great to have a night out with them. and dress up. jonas had some pretty sweet moves in the limbo competition and musical chairs. plus, he was the winner. he is such a show stealer. he wins every game or competition. it is crazy.
