a romantic little patio dinner.

jonas got home late late late from work, but we stayed up and had dinner on the patio to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our civil marriage in copenhagen, denmark. we had root beer, the best pizza in town and crème brûlée. we could also feel the cool wind from the storms that are supposed to be coming this weekend, it was such a gorgeous night out there. happy two years to the two of us :)

august/ anniversary temple date.

last year, we decided on a new tradition: to go to the temple and do sealings around our anniversary. we believe so strongly in the family unit and this belief determines everything for us. we just want the same for everyone. it is a great way to celebrate our marriage.

unfortunately, no one was around to take a photo of us together, but that happens a lot.

1.  burgers from the grill.

2. soda in a chilled mug.

3. chocolate chip brownies.

4. enjoying the house you spent half the day cleaning saturday.

5. a cuddly katze.

6. leaving all that to go to work. willingly, because you have to.

a sushi picnic at the temple.

we missed our june temple date because life got busy and then the temple was closed for part of the month. i cannot let it go that we missed it, even though i have gone by myself, i missed going with jonas one time. it was going to drive me crazy unless we went twice this month, so are counting this as our "june temple date" and we will go again next week. now, all is well with the world. plus, this date was great- a sushi picnic with my love in my favorite dress..

I forgot to announce my new niece on the blog. Shame on me, this is supposed to include family announcements! There have been so many new babies too, I might be catching the fever...but probably not for a while :)
Jonas' sister, Noomi just had this new baby girl, their second little one. I LOVE her name, especially the Amelie part, but I also really love that Audrey Tatou film. Amelie might have been on my "baby girl name list", but I have plenty of others ;) I also have the most amazing boy name ever, but it is a surprise for a baby that isn't even a plan yet. I finally went shopping for Noomi's littles, I was tempted to just keep the tiny blouse & leggings for the future, it is my absolute favorite baby girl outfit. And I stole this announcement from Noomi's blog...

summer weather is not quite over, but school is here! jonas just started his fall semester. it is going to be a crazy few months with his full time job & full time school. goodness knows i couldn't do it. i am not worried about him though. he is a tough one.

a family dinner.



 last night, my family got together and celebrated my birthday and my brother's. It is always good to spend time in my "old home", you know you are there when you get to a little road with a giant Ron Paul sign attached to the fence. drive about a mile back and you get to spend time with lots of crazy red heads, your sister(who you always miss) and brother in law. then they take you to dinner to see lots of other people you love.

a farewell.

Today we said goodbye to our beloved Bishop Lee.We are really going to miss him in the Louisville First Ward. He has been a great great bishop. It was the primary program today too, I am so glad that we all had a special last Sunday, and those kiddos in the primary are such wonderful little people. I am very blessed in this ward.

today we're younger than we ever gonna be.

i start a new little job(still in my field) next saturday and jonas works most saturdays, so this was our last chance to have a full day together for a while. we had a good day and ended it with a bike ride in the city. i am not sure which is the greater talent- my bike riding in huge shoes or jonas getting that pizza home on the bike intact.

he made her feel as though the world belonged to them- as though it lay before them like an opened frog on a dissecting table, begging to be examined.

the theme around the art in our home seems to be love, exploring and germany :) 

it might be silly, but it is us. 

jonas found this map that you scratch off. we decided to only scratch off the places we have been together, and someday we will remove all the gold and reveal the color underneath.

kind of a beautiful way to represent our life and the growing we do together. 

susan's baby shower.

My cousin Susan was born in May of ’88, I was born in June of ’88 and my cousin Katie was born July ’88. It must have been fun for my family to have three brand new littles so close in age! It has certainly been a special part of my life to grow up with those two.

Yesterday, we celebrated Susan, the first one of us to begin her journey into motherhood. I am very excited for her and cannot wait to meet baby Parker!

i have so much to do! i have become overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude lately, knowing that the Lord believes in me and has trusted me with this important job.

jonas is a ward missionary. i'm excited for him, he loves missionary work.

secret mission at night.

There is an empty lot close to our home where there are many sunflowers and i have been dying to go cut some down. We went at night because I'm afraid someone will get angry.  Jonas said he would go with me,so we each grabbed a pair of scissors and now we have pretty sunflowers in our kitchen! We also found a sunflower that was half my size. It was amazing. Who planted all of them?

dragon king's daughter & shakespeare.

Jonas took me out for sushi at Dragon King's Daughter, and it was so good, we ate it all up. He also took me to Central Park for Shakespeare in the Park and we shared a bottle of cold, German, sparkling water. We walked and talked about family, the future and our current struggles. Everyday he makes me happier than I ever thought I could be.
