church, making a pot pie together, vintage cola, tyler park & reading the hobbit, a beautiful stone wall, & enjoying the brownie pecan pie we made together last night(à la mode). .
we tried to make the 6pm session, but ran a little late. so we had a picnic(thanks jonas for bringing panera!) and we had time to take lots of photos while waiting for the next session. i loved all the little crunchy leaves on the temple grounds:
oh, i have a tip for you, don't jump in boots, it hurts.
thursday night, my sister came over with asha after they had a mother/ daughter date in louisville. we had orange leaf, krispy kreme AND we went to target. we ate too much, for some reason, we both eat way more than normal when we are together. they spent the night but brooke forgot about her carpool duties, so i did not go to work late to have a smoothie king breakfast with her. what a lame-o.
my sister came to louisville for a high school reunion and i got to spend some time with her four kiddos. i love being their aunt. when they left, i felt a little lonely. they are just too much fun to be around! though, i am not sure how my sister does it everyday- they are a 24/7 job. it makes me wonder how i will manage when i have my own human resource.
the things we did saturday: walked to central park. i pushed like 4 kids on the swings from a birthday party all at once. asha asked "how did you get on swing duty?" good question.
had dinner at mcdonalds. they never eat there and i never eat there, it sounds like a good idea- until later when you feel like death. ps- don't take 4 UK fans to the mcdonalds on campus, they will get a little crazy.
bought some candy at scheler's. my sister used to take me and my brother to this convenient store when we were little. we actually used to get candy cigarettes- i loved to pretend smoke. i really did. played video games[not me.]
watched nacho libre, which is one of the funniest movies ever & we bought a zoo.
made a mega- bed in my living room(queen air mattress pushed against the couch).
jonas took these photos the other day, it cracks me up that she sleeps like this. she has the entire guest bed, but she loves to be under the blanket. my sister always asks me how i can love her with her reallllyy bad habits, i guess that this is how :)
how to really live on a very pretty day: 1. grab someone you love. 2. have them grill hot dogs. 3. take them to the riverside. 4. put a blanket down, maybe use the same one you sat on when you got engaged under a tree in germany. 5. enjoy your dinner and talk and talk and talk. 6. do not think about things that make you sad. 7. give your leftovers to a homeless man. 8. find ice cream.
when i was in mortuary school, i lived in a funeral home. my roommate, tiffany, became a really good friend of mine. we used to go on walks, talk all the time, canoe and we enjoyed cincinnati together. now she is having a little one and i got to head to my beloved northern kentucky to celebrate.
here are some (silly) photos from back in the day:
i spilled water all over my ipod when we were in toronto. it made me sick. and then i had to listen to the radio for a few weeks, gross. i feel so guilty about this, but jonas bought me a new one. he just got the other one for me at christmas, and i feel like this took away some of the excitement of that gift. i am super happy to have a new one but i am really sorry to jonas for not being more responsible..
we spent labor day at my sister's house. there was a lot of dancing with my nieces, perfect steak, and being coughed in the face by all the kiddos. but i love them and this crazy lola, who wanted to do a little photo shoot with me. every time she wears her little sun glasses, she looks over them like the tiny diva that she is. lola aka "lolz" is awesome.
