new year's eve.

it is so strange that this is the last post of 2012. i was just talking to someone about how much faster each year goes by as i get older. it makes me sad because i know that someday i will look back on these days in a way that i do not understand right now. it also makes me happy because i am able to stay in this life and progress one more day.
i am just going to try and "enjoy it. because it's happening." (perks of being a wallflower)

sorry, it was a photo kind of night & the last 4 are by the amazing catherine fonua, who kindly let me borrow her photos. they don't look yellow like mine, ugh!

frankfort.

sorry about all the photos. i got a new lens for christmas and i had fun trying it out (even with the huge 'fail' pile)...
i took benni to frankfort today. we searched for books in the attic of poor richard's & had lunch at a little cafe next door to the bookstore. we walked around the town, the old capitol building, we found a free museum about the city of Frankfort, toured the new capitol building(another FREE tour. it was awesome and interesting). i loved the little dolls of the first ladies of kentucky and the mural representing the 120 counties in kentucky. i showed benni the governor's mansion & daniel boone's grave, which had an amazing view. this trip would only have been better if it was summer & if jonas had not has to work :(

& the snow fell on this boxing day.

i totally did the shopping thing the day after christmas. i know, i should really hide my head in shame but it is something i have done for many years. it was great. then i took benjamin out for sushi and it was the BEST sushi(dragon king's daughter). we walked around museum row and went to the frazier art museum for the "Holidays Around the World" exhibit. really, it should have never been advertised as its own exhibit, there were only like ten trees. then we made döner with the leftover christmas eve lamb. they actually turned out pretty good- we need different bread and chicken instead. jonas was just so excited and happy to have a little piece of his favorite food, only available in the deutschland.
oh yeah, and we had snow today. it has been a while! it was beautiful !
