i'm the crazy lady who tried to take her cat for a walk.

it seemed like such a good idea to take my cat for a walk. i learned why no one does this and i really freaked the cat out. the harness is going back to the store, i shall never try again, i did feel really stupid holding a leash attached to my cat and jonas had a great "i told you so" moment.

game on.

i spent my day off with my sister(brooke) and my best friend/ sister(catherine). we had a girls day and went out for lunch and then we went to orange leaf but all of the flavors were not appetizing so we drove to the heart of nicholasville, ky to try game on frozen yogurt. they had video games, collectables, diner tables and 132 toppings to go with their yogurt. guess what flavor they had? white chocolate  mousse. it has become a regular thing for me to search for this flavor- calling froyo places, walking in to check, checking online, etc. it was a big deal to me, haha. and they had tart for my sister, so she was happy too. this is a really long froyo story, but it was awesome. 

...then i was really lame and got sick(even left work early today- i try not to do that ever). it's june and so not the time to be sick!

my sweet family came to see me on monday night and celebrate my birthday.
they really didn't have to do that, but i am very grateful that they did!
they had me laughing and feeling quite loved :)

25th birthday.

i had a fantastic birthday.
jonas surprised me with gifts to open in the morning.
some of my family took me out for breakfast at wild eggs.
i received lots of calls/ FB wall posts wishing me a happy day--thank you!
jonas took me out for dinner at Seviche. also a total surprise :)
i got to see the new Brit Marling film- the east. 
and i had a lovely ice cream cake.
it was a great start to my 25th year!

the lion's roar, the lion's roar is something that i have heard before.

we spent a delightful evening at the louisville zoo tonight. we heard a lion roar. we saw a white alligator. and we went during the 'twilight hours' ( a new thing at the zoo, i think). it was much less crowded and i have never experienced the zoo like that- i really liked it!

where i've been lately.

i have been enjoying the month of june and not blogging. but here are a few photos of our life:

falling rock park: the quarry.

in lagrange, there is a great place to spend an afternoon. it is a quarry that, until a couple years ago, was only open to scuba divers. there are even some cars in the bottom of the quarry- and it is pretty darn deep. it is a little steep to get in at $10 each person to 'float'. no swimming allowed, so we had to buy rafts before we went. there are still plenty of places to jump in- you just have to have your float in hand most of the time. i didn't mind laying in the water getting a suntan, ahem- sunburn anyway :)

we picked up some sandwiches before driving out too & had matching- required- bracelets that give you a stupid line. are you getting that there are a lot of rules at this place? you have to sign a form that waives the park of all responsibility if anything happens to you. oh, you have to be over 18. good thing we are old and well behaved. rules aside, it was nice place to be!

it's the first week of june.

summer is quite welcome to stay forever.

the love of my life and i went to cincinnati for our 'adventure tuesday'.

we have been trying to get out of the house every tuesday, our day off.

 we went to jungle jim's for so much german shelf food.

we had lunch at Arthur's, famous for burgers.

and we have some (hopefully) amazing photos to share later in the month.

we had a nice dinner outside at hofbrauhaus. 

and ended the evening pretending to be johnny cash+june carter singing in the car.
