lately.

1. We started something exciting- a house project! We became home owners a couple weeks ago. This is something my dad is helping us with, which is so wonderful because we have no idea what to do. Once we get a little further along and things are improving at a faster level, I will definitely share more.
2. We live within walking distance of the University of Louisville Planetarium. I used to love the planetarium when I was little, but this is my first time at this one. It invites so much curiosity and humility and excitement. We both loved it and hope to go back soon.
3. We celebrated Jonas' birthday with my family and giant steaks for dinner. They were epic.
4. My sister's amazing tire swing.
5. We also got to spend time with our marine and his sweet little Silas.
6. So, I have some serious bangs now.
7. I made salmon cakes. They are my favorite and I was really proud because they were so good!

Jonas' Birthday!

My dear husband just turned 28. I really can't believe We are coming toward the end of our twenties. I'm sure I will laugh at that someday. It also marks three years since Jonas moved here from Germany, which actually makes us both very sad. We both miss Germany, but I know it is the most painful for Jonas. Anyway... for his birthday I made a Black Forrest Cake. He will always have one on his birthday and he always has. His family would sing to him first thing in the morning on his birthday. I managed to do that this year- not easy when you are trying to get ready for work and your time management skills are subpar.

Of course we had dinner at Das Gasthaus. It was super yummy.

I would also like to note that the day before I saw that new Captain America movie. The things i do for love :)
