weekend love.
*Friday night we went out with some friends to Milkwood. I wasn't a huge fan of my ramen, but I could have devoured my husband's meal, a pork burger. Afterward, we went to The Tens at Actor's. I go every year but this time around there was some major cursing. It was a huge bummer, but after we left, our friends took us to visit the Humana building downtown. It was so beautiful. I have never been able to see Louisville from up high. It made me happy.
*Saturday I went to three different fitness classes. I had two at the Y- a barbell class and a cardio class that always kicks my butt. Later in the day I decided to go to the community class at Yoga on Baxter. It was the strangest yoga practice ever because time moved so quickly. I wish I everyday was so active.
*I always deep clean my home on my weekend off work. It is one of my favorite things ever. So much satisfaction.
*Jonas and I had a lovely walk at Waterfront Park. We have 50 degree temps in January!

2014 film.
I have not seen Birdman or Big Eyes yet, but here a few of my favorites from the year...
...I also enjoyed The Skeleton Twins, The Giver and This is Where I leave You, just because I watched it after my first full marathon. That was a great day.

Crescent Hill Reservoir.
The Louisville Water Company has a 3/4 mile track around the basin that is used to settle the sediment in the water that is pumped from the Ohio River. It was built in 1879. We thought it was a very nice place to take a winter stroll. On another winter related note, I just cannot stop listening to Simon and Garfunkel. This season also brings Fleet Foxes from my ipod. Anyone else?

remix.
We were able to spend part of our Saturday together. Even though neither of us felt great, we tried to make the most of it. I woke up early and went to two classes at the gym that, combined, made one intense workout. We had brunch together at Wild Eggs. Since we were already in Nulu, we stopped over at Local Speed for an exhibit called Remix. We watched a video about glassblowing in Louisville, it was fascinating. The pieces are gorgeous but we laughed for so long at that statue with a little man in a trex outfit.

in 2015.
These are not my resolutions, just stuff I hope will happen. 15 hopes and dreams:
1. Taking some day trips in Kentucky. It would be such a shame if we didn't take advantage.
2. An anniversary trip to Chicago. I am extremely excited to celebrate five years and have some super special 5 year photos taken.
3. I am going to sleep in a wigwam on my birthday. I am destined to do this. Plus zip line.
4. Maybe- probably- taking our niece with us on an epic European vacation. We plan to drink hot chocolate on the streets of Paris, run into Platform 9 3/4 in London, road trip all across France and Belgium, explore the canals of Amsterdam & visit the place we were married.
5. Plenty of concerts and theater (movie and live) and other art, in any form.
6. Finish our house. That would be a dream come true but sometimes I look at it and want to run away.
7. I just remembered that my dad has a canoe that he does not mind us borrowing. I want to canoe this summer. It's all I want to do.
8. Saving some more money. We did okay in 2014 but there is always room for improvement.
9. Maybe just maybe we can set and complete some tangible goals for our entrepreneurial ideas. I just need to decide exactly what I want and just work on it.
10. If I make it through the Pimsleur German 1 through 4, I will feel great. Even if I still suck at German.
11. Jonas wants to run a full marathon. I kind of want to, but only if I can forget the stress of the first training. Most likely, I won't do it but I might run a half or two.
12. We may visit some of our favorites, Nashville, Cincinnati and Indianapolis again. I hope.
13. Eating our way through Louisville some more.
14. Visiting the people I love instead of being lame and not visiting.
15. Finally buying a serval! This is a joke. We actually are very obsessed with them but fear a giant cat would hate our apartment.

NYE. 2015.
This New Year's Eve we had mexican food and fireworks and sparklers. It was a struggle to stay up until midnight but we made it to see the clock strike twelve.
Happy 2015 !
