we took Zara to see Louisville City Soccer!
& we all matched in our Deutschland jerseys :)
Z was a little wiggle worm, but she loved cheering with everyone, people watching, running around and playing with some other kids at the playground.
& I will never forget the stare down she had with a little girl who got in her face. I love watching kids interact. Really, I try not to laugh ;)
We sat in the fan section and I think we will next time because it is so much fun!
but my favorite part of the games may be the sunsets- they are always breathtaking over the stadium!
It was a wonderful night.

a rare weekend with Papa.
Jonas always works on Saturdays.
But not this weekend!
We had a crazy amount of veggies on our pizza Friday night.
I had my last training run- 21 hot, humid miles.
When I was finished, I had to have a cheeseburger.
So we went out to Stout for some yummy burgers.
Going out to eat was hard for a while, but now we have "woo woo" videos.
& some running around outside :)
We spent some time at the Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft.
Their space has always been gorgeous, but it really did get even better after their renovation.
They have an awesome section for families. Z loved it! & it is all free!
We also had smoothies. Ran errands together.
Only 1 hour of church on Sunday (3 hrs.feels extra long with a toddler. So 1 hour is amazing).
We had the sweet missionaries over for dinner.
A family walk.
& an epic episode of Game of Thrones (that show is killing me!)

Zara: Months 19&20.
19 & 20 month update::
Now that my baby girl is getting older, these posts are harder to keep up with! She keeps me so busy, bless her bones.
Z has a deep love for being outside. She asks to go outside all the time. To keep her calm while we wait to go, we both yell "outsideeeeeeee!" She brings me both of our shoes and will not give up. I love outside too, but the mosquitoes are killing us right now. Her favorite things to do outside are: playing in the sandbox, finding bugs and putting them in her bucket, swinging on the big kid swing (she has never fallen, she is so good at holding on) and she insists that I swing next to her. I tell her "hello" and she says "hiii" right back while we swing. Then she seriously stays on the swing for 20-30 minutes straight. She loves to slide and "lauf" (run in German). She really loves to get buckets of water and pour them at her feet or in the sand.
Z also loves to help outside: Jonas holds her while he works. She has been helping me move a pile of rocks and old wood from the previous owners. She can water the plants too :)
Z is also a big helper in the house. She sweeps, dusts and cleans windows.
She is social most of the time, greeting strangers & staring at them. She always wants to hang out with other kids, especially the older kids. She also kissed a random baby one time. She always requests to hang out with our neighbor Bella and starts running toward her house sometimes.
She also has her moments with other kids. I have witnessed her yelling "mine!" at a girl at daycare. The poor girl didn't even do anything. & she can get pretty sassy with Bella.
We have such an affectionate toddler. She pushes her lips out like a fish to give us a kiss. She loves to be held. She loves to hold my hand.
Z loves to race us from one end of the house to the other, she loves when we read books to her, especially books with animals. She dances and wiggles in the car. She loves to play hide & seek and hide her paci and say "where'd it go?" with a huge smile across her face. She jumps into the pool with no fear.
Zara's has started to form little sentences. She even said "I love you" on 6/15. She also says "I love woo woos" because she has an obsession with dogs. She says "My Mama" and "Mine", an its never said in kindness. She says "cheese", "snack", "night night", "I go", "outside!", "where did it go?", "schnulli", "slide". I try so hard to get her past the letter "A" and the number 1, but she just repeats them.
She also answers questions, getting stuck on "yes" or "no" no matter what you ask.
Oh, the adorable things she has been doing: Like going to the pantry with my and repeating sounds I make as we choose what to take from the shelf. Like, "hmm". Usually she wants gummies, but I still try to get her to take something else. She just says "no", until we get to the candy or until she cries because she doesn't like the idea of sugar in moderation.
Z is mistaken for a boy so often. It doesn't bother me or anything, except when people feel awkward for getting her gender wrong. I am just ready for her hair to grow so I can put it up in pig tails!
She will watch TV for 10 minutes before she finds something she would rather be doing. After we get home, I have a few minutes while she watches to start dinner, then magnets or a bath helps the rest of the time. Of course there are those moments that I have a screaming child and one hand to chop & cook. no fun.
Z still loves milk, but is finally drinking less than before.
She wears 18-24 month clothes, some 2T. Size 5 diapers.
Sleep. I cannot believe it is still an issue. I can't believe she still wakes up once a night to sleep with me and get some milk.
The pacifier love is still strong, but she knows when she is not allowed to have it and will hand it over without being asked.
Z is really good at testing me sometimes. Her screaming can bring me pretty close to losing my sanity. & I totally get it, she's a toddler. It is still hard.
buttttt...
I crave this girl when we are apart. I miss her joy. I miss her love.
She is my sunshine.
Lesson learned: don't forget milk!!!:::!!!:::
