giving thanks.

Our Thanksgiving traditions were adjusted this year, but I have no complaints about this special day. It was such a treat to sleep in since we weren't able to do the 5k we normally do. Instead, we took our girls outside for a little while to run around & play hide n' seek. We has a scaled down holiday, but my sister made it special by cooking an amazing dinner. I ate so much broccoli cheese casserole, I might wait until next year to have it again. Everyone played four square & my girls loved my sister's tire swing. Zara & Eleanor were also super lucky to get to spend the next day with their aunt while I worked. It made me so happy that they had two great days away from our regular schedule.

I have wanted to start a gratitude tree for so long. It finally happened! Zara and I loved making this together & writing down what our family is thankful for. We are so very lucky & have a million things to be grateful for..

Celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary!

Several months late, we finally celebrated our 10th anniversary. Not including work, it was the first time in years that we have gone anywhere without our kids. It was so very nice to have a night out for sushi & to watch a movie in a theater...

I have missed Baxter Ave. theater so much. We used to go all the time. Plus, the movie, Sound of Metal, did not disappoint::

Ten years! That's crazy!

mexico film.

I found a very old waterproof camera & took it to Mexico in case it still worked. It was probably fine but Zara accidentally dropped it, the case cracked & some water got in. There are still a few cute ones..

Chattanooga, Tennessee!

We went on one more little trip this year, to Chattanooga. It felt a little strange to go during election week. It made me feel anxious that it was unresolved even though I didn't vote for Biden or Trump. It was weird & very typical for 2020. We still had a great time, just checked the news a lot.

I was able to start every day by jogging and getting to know the city a little bit. I absolutely loved doing that while listening to music and podcasts. Zara and Ellie had a great time while I was gone by using the shower attachment as a sprinkler. There is nothing like hanging out in a hotel room as a kid. Poor Jonas, ha.

Trip highlights below!

Our first evening was spent swimming at the hotel, eating spaghetti & ice cream. We didn't know the restaurant was fancy and super dark but our girls were distracted by their yummy meal. The staff got their food out fast, bless them.
