spring trees & ice cream!
Now that our family is finally over daylight saving time, we are really enjoying the season!
On this Saturday, after Zara & I got our nails done (the reason for this first photo), we visited one of my favorite trees in Old Louisville. I used to go out of my way to drive past it when I lived nearby...
Afterward, we stood in the long line at Dairy Kastle (always worth it!) We took it over to a field nearby & played red rover, hide 'n seek & duck, duck goose. Love these days with my tiny, messy explorers...

a week with a glimpse of spring.
It is so crazy that the pandemic began a year ago. This same time last year, we were worried about childcare & running out of essentials. Even though we are still in the pandemic, this same week in 2021 feels much more hopeful and grounded. I always try to soak in the good times because you never know when or how things will change. So anyway, to the highlights of a beautiful week...
Zara with her book prize for a challenge we have been working on::
We are enjoying our yard before the mosquitoes arrive for the summer. It has been nice to play for a while after work before we go inside for dinner & baths::One night this week there was a shooting behind our house, so it turned into a bizarre evening. We were not allowed to go home for 3 hours after work/ daycare while they were investigating the scene. We had no preparations with us (diapers, milk, etc.) We went out for dinner, ice cream & to Walgreens to chase my kids & change Ellie's diaper::
We spent a chilly Saturday morning playing at Central Park in Old Louisville. My girls had so much fun. I used to play there when I was little so it will always hold a special place in my heart::
Zara is the queen of crafts & drawings!::
We lost some great restaurants during the pandemic & I didn't know if the Comfy Cow near our house would reopen but it did. Yay! ::
