recently, i asked one of my coworkers if she also stays up at night thinking of what needs to be done for families that she works with at the funeral home. of course, she does, but i just needed to know that i was not crazy- or maybe some advice about not taking thinking about work at home. i am not sure that i will ever be able to forget about it at home and i really wish that i could. not that i do not want to do an excellent job, or give our families what they need, but i have got to learn to keep it there. constant worrying just makes me feel exhausted (so does running laps around the funeral home, ha). unfortunately, jonas is tired all the time too. he works a lot of overtime, not because we need it, but because he cares about being loyal and hard working. he goes where he is needed. i really admire that about him and i am proud of the two of us. right now in our life, we are learning to balance and spend more time on what is really important. i believe it can be done. somehow. for some much needed quality time, we took a very last minute trip to nashville on monday night after work and tuesday. we made ourselves leave work on time and rushed home to book a hotel and pack. i am a huge priceline fan, but i disappointed jonas a little because hotel preston did not have an indoor pool. i felt really bad because it was his one request, but i did the bidding thing. anyway, on the way to Nashville, we listened to general conference and had time to talk about what we heard. we made it to our first stop -- Edley's bbq. it is my favorite bbq place- oh if we ever get one in louisville..yes, that would be great. my sister and i had edley's a couple times when we went to nashville a few months back... after dinner, we went back to the hotel and laid down and fell asleep..at like 9:30. we were just so tired. however, i did feel quite content falling asleep there, cozy with my husband. it was really nice, even if i did wake up at 5am. here are a few photos of our time in nashville. it was the perfect kind of fall day with the clearest blue skies::: one of our main intentions for nashville was a temple session. we found out too late that the temple is closed for two weeks, but we spent some time on the grounds:::
we also visited the Parthenon. we know this from Percy Jackson, the first movie we saw together. it was in German and Jonas had to translate :) :::
we also visited the American Pickers store, a show that Jonas has watched a few times:::
