devotchka.

We tried to see Devotchka live a few months ago while they were touring after their new album was released. I had tickets & everything but they were refunded due to a scheduling conflict.
A few months later- another tour! & we got to see them in St. Louis at tiny Fubar where we were front and center. My dream come true!

The opening act was great too- Neyla Pekarek from the Lumineers. She performed songs from her new album- Rattlesnake.

& with Devotchka, there was so much to love:
The giant tuba of lights. The Theremin.
The accordion & violin.
Nick urata with the coolest haircut and boots.
Romantic and heartbreaking songs.

We also went through so much to see the concert:
Leaving Z overnight for the first time (not sure I can handle that again).
Being in the first trimester & standing for many hours.
& it was my weekend to work so with only a few hours of sleep, we left our hotel way before we were ready to wake up. I had anxiety about getting to work, so I drove back in the most dangerous ice storm ever. Thankfully we were ok but it took several more hours than anticipated. Such a crazy trip.
