We loved our time in Canada's capital! Canada is celebrating 150 years. We felt so much pride and respect as we learned a little about this wonderful country. My impression is that it is a very diverse, modern and accepting culture. Plus they are taking wonderful action to care for the environment.
We started our time in Ottawa with lunch & sweets...
We spent some time checking out the street "statues" (the statue street artists) and then a bus tour of the city. I know the tour was just meant to be informational, but it seemed like an advertisement for the city. I definitely wanted to move here afterward. It is incredible...
We stopped for Timbits & Z refused to share...
Parliament Hill...
We played and danced on the lawn...
Their canal was made by 5,000 men. It is 200 km long. In the winter they drain most of it and make an ice skating rink...a really big one...
I wanted to go to the art museum but sometimes you can't do what you want when you have a toddler...haha...I still got to enjoy the spider sculpture...
We found some burritos at Burrito Borracho. The perfect dinner when you aren't up for taking a toddler into a restaurant...she loved them too...
Then we had some ridiculous cones from sweet jesus. so so good...
We lucked out and got to see Northern Lights. It was a show to honor 150 years of Canada. We loved standing with everyone as they sang "O Canada" in french & english...
I just thought this photo was cute..Z at lunch with her dog videos on youtube..until she ran around forever...
Mosaicanada was something else we were lucky to catch. It is full of giant horticultural structures that represent Canada...
Good old Anne of Green Gables..I read those books a few years ago, so sweet...
The killer whale...
mother earth was breathtaking...
We love you, Ottawa!
