I don't even want to talk about how close Zara is to turning 2. It is unbelievable! Oh man, 21 months.
Z is headstrong. Very headstrong. The tantrums and wiggles are difficult on us sometimes, but I am grateful she is here and she is healthy.
Zara loves to run away from me- and she is fast! It is so very scary.
& she loves to hide. Most of the time I can obviously see her, but I pretend that I can't. She thinks she is invisible and thinks it is so funny.
She has started escaping from the car seat, no matter how tight it is. The first time she did it, she popped out of the straps and said "hi!!" I have nightmares that she does this at the wrong time :(
I try and try to read to her. Sometimes she listens. Sometimes she closes the book, throws it and says "bye".
She loves her "night night" stuff (her blankets and pillow). We even have to carry them into restaurants.
She also loves her "woo woo" videos aka funny dog videos on youtube or videos of her that I have taken on my phone. This request is quite frequent.
She started to like movies a bit more, but really only in the car. At home, she would rather play with her toys or outside or watch those dog videos. haha.
She loves all animals so so much. & wearing clothes that have animals on them.
She is the bossiest.
I love to ask her things like "are you ok?" "do you want to eat dinner?" When she says yes, it is always this pitiful sounding "yeahhh" and you know, she loves to say "no" :)
Z is a hair puller. But only Mama's hair. We are firm with her and try to distract her with something else, but she comes back to it sometimes. It hurts so bad.
Her favorite song is "Take you to Rio". She is always singing "na na na rio".
She loves cheese & mac n cheese.
Z surprises me sometimes and will eat 6 spears of asparagus, tuna salad, cucumbers, etc. I love when she eats the healthy things I offer. I am trying not to offer her a separate meal because she really will eat eventually.
Z has so many new words and is forming little sentences. She understands almost everything we say. I am excited for more verbal communication :)
She can hold her own with other kids. She is pretty confident. Sometimes she pushes them a little, but we stop that right away. She also does the toddler stare down, but the other kids her age do it back, so I guess they are just figuring each other out.
Zara loves to be chased by Mama & Papa. One of us holds her and protects her while the other is a monster. She loves candy so we have to keep that stuff away. She could probably eat her weight in Haribo bears. She is obsessed with being outside aka a playground. She loves to run, ride elevators, to talk on any phone, dancing, her paci, dogs, hugging the cat (who is much more tolerant now), milk (still called "ma"), stuffed animals, patty cake, cheering/ clapping, singing. She is so good at helping around the house and so eager to do it.
One of the best moments ever: Early one morning we were laying on the couch, trying to sleep because it was way too early to wake up. Zara cuddled up next to me with her eyes half closed. She smiled and said "Zara & Mama".
Life with you is crazy, little sidekick. but I love you so.
No big deal, just lovin her cricket chips::
