Christmas Day.

It was in the 60s here in Kentucky for Christmas. When it snows Zara will ask if it is Christmas so this must have been very confusing! We started our day making silly pancake snowmen together & Zara played with her new toys. I nursed a migraine while Jonas took Zara on a bike ride before we headed over to my Grandpa's house in Lexington. My aunt brought the saran wrap game and it was so fun! We ended the day at my Sister's with soup and a gift exchange. Eleanor wore a Santa outfit from Zara's first Christmas too. Click here to see that!
Happy Christmas to all!

Christmas Eve 2019.

I didn't feel very festive this year but I did enjoy Christmas Eve with my little family. We had a simple dinner with kale, chickpeas, pasta & fried rosemary to make it extra Christmasy. We read through the story of Christ's birth using our felt nativity, took turns opening gifts under the tree & let Zara play with her toys for the merriest Christmas mess.
She has very serious things on her mind::

A dear friend gave me this beautiful German ornament for Christmas this year. Now it is a favorite::

Happy Christmas Eve!

Christmas Sunday & special dresses.

It made my heart so full to see Zara and Eleanor in their Christmas dresses this year. Zara's dress was made by my Grandma Cilla and worn by my Mom many years ago. Eleanor's was worn by Zara when she was a newborn. I am thankful for my girls and our time together at church this day. It is such a comfort that even through tough times I have my family and cuddles with Z & E.

I had to work so we didn't have time to prepare our usual Raclette dinner but still had the missionaries from church over. We had pot roast for dinner, decorated cookies with them and sang a couple Christmas songs.

I hope you could all feel the Christmas spirit and comfort through this season that can be emotional and stressful.
Zara refused to let me fix her hair. Sometimes she drives me crazy, haha::
